About Tom Sanford
I’m a die-hard preservationist who believes that re-using what can be preserved, together with sustainable new development, is critical in changing our energy consumption.
I love talking about design, green technology and sharing knowledge with others in the field. I also love teaching and have taught one semester at WSU.
When I’m not designing, I can be found out on the road. I’m an avid bicyclist who is happiest being outside among all of nature’s beauty. I have completed the 2oo-mile Seattle to Portland bike ride nine years running and am a longtime member of the Biker Boys, a group which rides every Saturday and has made many long treks into California and Oregon.
About this site
The Biking Architect is primarily an outlet for me to discuss my passion, environmentally sensible design.
I hope that this will not only be a place where I can discuss the latest in green design, but also a place where others can join in the conversation and sense of community.
This blog will not only touch on the architecture industry but will also cover topics which the average home and business owner can implement in their lives to not only be a bit greener, but to save money.
And of course, I’ll also be talking about my other passion, biking.
So come along and join me for the ride, won’t you?
